''Era Assim'' translates literally from Portuguese to ''thats how it was'' or ''that's how it was back then''

A field recording over a breakfast table between Tempura and his grandfather José Maria Lopes, who reminisces about his younger days and describes several scenes he lived through in his village of Tinalhas in the Beira Baixa region.

This track serves as the starting point of the journey of Bandua. Along with the ambient atmosphere and sound design using the working hands of the people from the region, you hear the rustle of earth, the shuffling of hay, and the otherwise familiar sounds of the farm. A situational awareness is created here, as the narrator, through his experience and tales of younger days, carries the audience to the region itself to begin this journey.

The thesis is itself in the title ''Era Assim,'' a long time ago in days gone by, that's how it used to be.
