about

Pena no Peito is a traditional folk song from the Beira Baixa region of Portugal originally called ''Canção da Tristeza.'' The song was discovered (or rather) taught to Bandua by the resident and celebrated singer folk Idalina Gameiro during an artistic residency in the village of Penha Garcia, where the song finds its birthplace.

Pena no Peito I is the first interpretation of this song by Bandua, filled with an infectious dance beat, driving and groove laden bass line, and a tender vocal that floats above the instrumental as the track takes the listener on a journey to release their feathers and allow them to fly once again.
